After discovering North London based duo Tender and their debut, 'Afternoon' a few weeks ago, we have been longingly awaiting a follow up of new music. Presenting only as Dan & James, the makers are exquisite in their elusive artistry and we are thankful this arrived in our inbox last night. 'Lost' is much like their debut, a mosaic of cosmic sonics, sensually exploring souls and the meeting of minds through interwoven samples and words achingly bruised by fears and fractured love. True to their moniker, the pair produce music that stings: the glazed textures are delicate and throb severely through lovelorn lyrics such as ‘You couldn’t love me, I’m not your only’. When you discover an act with such promise, you want to dissolve in them completely, which is exactly how we feel here. Although live shows are yet to be announced, the swelling expectation is enough to keep our ears firmly to the ground. -LB
